The 164th Bloomsburg Fair is just over 2 weeks away and fair organizers gave the media a sneak peek Wednesday at some of the new things at the fair this year. Nicolette Cusate of Danville is the first-ever Bloomsburg Fair Queen. The Columbia Montour Vo-Tech graduate is studying agriculture at Penn State Erie.
Last year's Bloomsburg Fair saw the debut of wine tasting on the fairgrounds. Brian Campbell, Superintendent of Agriculture, says this year there will be additional wineries, but it will definitely be family-friendly with grape juice for the kids and the 1st Annual Grape Stomp featuring current Fair President Paul Reichart competing against past Fair President Fred Trump. Other local celebrities will also compete.
There will also be live karaoke set-up for all to try, it features concert quality audio, professional stage lighting, large video monitors, and 22 microphones.
The fair officially runs from September 21st through the 28th. Friday, September 20th is the preview day.
