Pocono Raceway is losing a racing event next year. The IndyCar Series 2020 schedule has been released, and it leaves off Pocono for the first time since the IndyCar Series races began there in 2013. Prior to that, there was a 23-year gap for open-wheel racing events at Long Pond. The latest IndyCar Race took place there just 2 weeks ago. An official reason has not been given for the move. Pocono races have been marred by tragedy several times in recent years, including a death of racer Justin Wilson during the ABC Supply 500 at in August 2015.
