State Uses Loan Forgiveness To Help Fight Opioid Addiction

Officials recently discussed another way the state is helping those with opioid addictions as well as the medical professional who are treating them. Health Secretary, Dr. Rachel Levine, says the state is using federal funding to provide loan repayment grants to 92 medical professionals who are giving direct medical and behavioral health care to those suffering from opioid addiction. She says many are practicing in areas where there is high opiod use or shortages of healthcare providers.
