Mobile App Needed To Park In One Part Of Bloomsburg

You’ll soon need to use an app on your smart phone to pay for parking on several blocks E. Second Street up by Bloomsburg University. The Bloomsburg Police Department says pending the adoption of an ordinance by Town Council on August 26th anyone wanting to park on the north side of East Second Street from Elm to Chestnut Streets will need to use a mobile application called “Pango” to pay to park. Bloomsburg University permits will no longer be valid in the area. Signs will be posted with information on how to pay for parking using the app. Hours of enforcement will be 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday with a five-hour limit at the space. The fee per hour will be $1. There will be no parking from 2:00 and 5:00 a.m. every day. A violation for an expired meter is a $10 fine and a violation for parking in a space for more than five hours is a $25 fine. Police expect to begin enforcing the parking regulations in on the north side of East 2nd from Elm to Chestnut on August 27th. More information is available at bloompd.com.
