Some Local Police To Focus On Agressive-Driving Enforcement For The Rest Of The Summer

Some police departments in Columbia County are joining State Police in an aggressive-driving enforcement initiative that is underway now through August 25th. The effort is aimed at reducing the number of aggressive driving related crashes, injuries and deaths on the roads. Police in Bloomsburg, Scott Township, Hemlock Township and South Centre Township along with State Troopers will focus on red light running, tailgating, overweight trucks, and the Steer Clear law. Motorists exhibiting other unsafe behaviors such as speeding, following too closely, or other aggressive actions will also be cited. The effort is funded by PennDOT and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
