PA Farm Bureau Pushes Local Produce

Pennsylvanians are encouraged to buy local when shopping for fresh produce this summer. With hundreds of farm stands and farmers markets across the commonwealth, there are plenty of opportunities to purchase fruits and vegetables directly from those who grow them. Pennsylvania Farm Bureau spokesman Mark O’Neill says not only is locally-grown produce fresher, its usually better tasting. O’Neill says shopping at a local farm stand or farmers market also usually allows an opportunity to ask questions to those involved in the growing process.
