A boil water advisory for homes and businesses in Nescopeck remains in effect because of a water main break under the Susquehanna River. The advisory was issued Tuesday by Pennsylvania American Water. The company issued an update on Thursday saying company engineers were working closely with contractors and the state Department of Environmental Protection to evaluate the break and determine the safest and most efficient way to complete repairs. Company officials said they expected repair work to get started yesterday afternoon. Pennsylvania American Water had no estimate how long the work would take or how long the boil water advisory would remain in effect.
