Nine Motorists Killed In Memorial Day Weekend Crashes Investigated By State Police

The Memorial Day holiday weekend was a deadly one on Pennsylvania highways. During the holiday weekend Pennsylvania State Police Troopers responded to 755 crashes in which 9 people died and 216 were injured. Troopers also made 582 arrests for driving under the influence and issued more than 14,200 speeding tickets. In addition they cited over 1,400 motorists for not wearing seat belts and more than 300 for not securing children in child safety seats.
