A bill which would help beginning farmers in Pennsylvania has been advanced by the state Senate Finance Committee. The bill would establish the beginning farmer tax credit. The bill’s sponsor, state Senator Elder Vogel, says it would encourage the sale or lease of farmland to new farmers through the creation of the tax credit and help new farmers to realize their dreams of building a business in PA. Senator John Blake voted for the bill, but noted concerns raised by the Department of Revenue about the fiscal impact of it. The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
