Legislation To Repeal Death Penalty In PA To Be Introduced

A group of lawmakers is preparing to introduce legislation to abolish the death penalty in Pennsylvania. The bill would remove capital punishment from the list of possible criminal sentences. Supporters of the measure calls the death penalty costly, flawed, and ineffective. The sponsors are mostly Democrats with one notable exception, state Rep. Frank Ryan, Republican of Lebanon County. Lawmaker says they'll seek additional GOP support before formally introducing the bill.
