Benton Golf Course & Resort Owner Says He Will Rebuild After Devastating Tornado

The owner of the Mill Race Golf Course and Resort got a boost in his efforts to rebuild following the tornado that touched down on April 15th in the Benton Area. The twister brought down hundreds of trees all over the course and campground and a power line brought down by the storm is believed to be the cause of the blaze that destroyed the newly renovated clubhouse at Mill Race. More than 20 volunteers spent Thursday lending a hand. Owner Roy Redner told our news partner Newswatch 16 there’s a long way to go before reopening, but the support from the community has been overwhelming. Redner says that members who play at Mill Race Golf Course will receive a refund for their summer membership. He says they hope to have a temporary clubhouse open soon so that they can open at least nine holes on the course in the next couple of months.
