Local Police Take Part In Initiative To Collect Unused or Expired Medication

A number of local police departments are taking part in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Take Back Day this Saturday. The DEA says unused or expired prescription medications can fall into the wrong hands and lead to accidental poisoning, misuse, and overdose. During the event you may bring your expired or unused prescriptions or over-the-counter medications to participating police departments for safe disposal. Police Departments in Benton, Berwick, Danville, Locust Township, and Riverside along with the Montour County Sheriff’s Office will all be open Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to accept your unwanted or unused medications.
