Danville Borough Council Awards Construction Bid For New Police Station

Danville Borough Council has awarded a $1.9 million contract to Miller Brothers Construction of Schuylkill County to build a new police station on the playground of the former Danville Elementary School in the 500 block of East Front Street. The borough manager says work is expected to get underway in the next 4 to 6 weeks. The new police station will be nearly 9,000 square feet, while the current police station on Mill Street is about 3,000 square feet. Danville officials say the new building could be completed before the end of the year.
