A newly released report from a pair of environmental groups says 9 Pennsylvania coal-fired power plants, including the Montour Steam Electric Station in Washingtonville, have unsafe levels of pollution in groundwater samples. The Montour County plant, owned by Talen Energy, has has three-times the allowed level of cobalt and sulfate and four times the level permitted of lithium.
