BU Student Charged With Leading Police On High-Speed Chase

A Bloomsburg University student is facing a long list of charges after leading police on a high-speed chase Tuesday night in Columbia County. Locust Township Police say 20-year-old Alec Gascot, of York, hit the gas and took off when they tried to pull him over for a lighting violation along Route 42 north with speeds reaching about a hundred miles a hour. The suspect finally pulled over in the parking lot at the Dollar General in Catawissa. He faces charges of fleeing and eluding police, reckless endangerment, DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and other charges.
