Trucking Industry Faces Shortage Of Drivers

A truck driver shortage in Pennsylvania and across the country has trucking companies looking for help in hauling goods. The Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association says fewer brick and mortar stores, an aging population of truck drivers and fewer young people going into the trucking industry, are among the reasons for the driver shortage. As a result some trucking companies are focusing on recruiting minorities and women. A prohibition which prevents drivers from being involved in interstate commerce until they're at least 21 has hurt the trucking industry.
