Work requirements for some Medicaid recipients was among the issues discussed as the Secretary of Labor and Industry testified in budget hearings before the state Senate Appropriations Committee. Gov. Tom Wolf has twice vetoed Republican-basked legislation requiring non-elderly Medicaid recipients without a disability and not caring for dependents to have or job or enroll in a training program. Labor and Industry Secretary Jerry Oleksiak, told lawmaker it's not always that simple, that several obstacles exist, such as transportation and a steady schedule. Oleksiak says he's working with other departments to try and clear some of those barriers.
