Chief Deputy To Run For Montour County Sheriff

Montour County Chief Deputy Sheriff Clair Heath has announced he will run for Sheriff. Current Sheriff Ray Gerringer has previously said he doesn’t intend to run for another four-year term. The 57-year-old Heath has worked for the sheriff's office since 1990 and became chief deputy in 2004. Heath has the endorsement of Sheriff Gerringer. Heath, a lifelong resident of Danville, is a registered Democrat and a 1979 Danville Area High School graduate. He served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and 20 years in the Army Reserves with deployments in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield in 990 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
