PSP Releases New Year's Highway Stats

The New Year's holiday period was a busy one for Pennsylvania State Police. From December 29th through January 1st state troopers responded to 642 crashes, including four in which four people were killed. Troopers also made 406 arrests for driving under the influence and issued in excess of 6,300 citations for speeding, nearly 500 for seat belt violations and over 100 for failing to properly restrain children in child safety seats.
