PA County Commissioners Want State Funding For New Voting Machine Mandate

The County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania will be seeking approval of state funding to help cover the $150 million dollar price tag for new voting systems with voter-verifiable paper trails. While the federal government has provided about $14 million dollars and Governor Wolf has pledged to seek approval of state funding for the voting machines, counties are expected to be responsible for about $75 million dollars. The Association says some counties could dip into reserve funds, while others might have to consider increasing property taxes to pay the balance.
