Police Say Township Supervisor Had A BAC Of Nearly 3 Times The Legal Limit

Court papers indicate that a supervisor in Mahoning Township, Montour County who is charged with drunk driving had a blood alcohol level of .221 or nearly three times the legal limit of .08. Police have charged 63-year-old Township Supervisor John Whelan with DUI and careless driving after he crashed his pick-up truck into two parked vehicles along the 800 block of Bloom Road in the township on December 30th. A preliminary hearing on the charges is set for January 24th.
