The Republican candidate for governor is updating his rhetoric on climate change. Scott Wagner has acknowledged the scientific consensus that the rapid warming is caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions. In the past, Wagner has received negative feedback for making untrue statements about the science of climate change. But at a recent town hall event in York, Wagner seemed eager to move past discussions about what's causing global warming. Wagner and his running mate Jeff Bartos say the free market will yield cleaner solutions, and tout natural gas as cleaner than coal. By contrast, Governor Tom Wolf has made reduction of emissions from the natural gas industry a major objective.
