The gender pay gap was the focus of a roundtable discussion hosted by First Lady Frances Wolf and the Pennsylvania Commission for Women Monday. The roundtable focused on the executive order on equal pay signed by Governor Tom Wolf in June. While it only impacts state workers, First Lady Frances Wolf urged private sector businesses to follow the Governor's lead. Among other things, under the Governor's executive order, job applicants cannot be asked about their salary history during the hiring process. Pennsylvania ranks 29th in the country for pay disparity and PA women make 79 percent of what men earn, although the gap is greater for women of color.
