Keeping Dairy Animals Cool

As temperatures skyrocket for yet another day, the state Department of Agriculture is reminding residents to protect livestock and pets from the heat. The Department of Agriculture says during the high heat, extra attention should especially be paid to heavier livestock, animals with darker coats and those with chronic health conditions which are at the greatest risk of suffering from heat-related stress. People are also urged to protect their pets from the heat by making sure they have plenty of water and not leaving them in hot cars.
