PA Labor Dept. Receives Opioid Recovery Grant

Pennsylvania is one of six states to receive a federal grant to help those with opioid use disorder to get back into the workforce. The Department of Labor and Industry will use part of the nearly $5 million grant to work with those suffering from opioid use disorder to develop their career skills and to make a plan to get back into the workforce. Deputy Secretary Eileen Cipriani says the grant will also be used to expand opioid-related treatment services and to talk to employers about their willingness to hire individuals with a drug history. In addition the department will develop a mobile app to help people connect with workforce and support services
