The leaders of 4 universities that receive state aid were called to Harrisburg Tuesday to answer questions about their budgets. The heads of Penn State, PITT, Temple and Lincoln made their annual appearances before the Senate Appropriations Committee as state budget hearings continue in Harrisburg. The schools receive hundreds of millions in state aid and each university head promoted their school's contributions to the state workforce and all noted that the state aid allows for significant tuition discounts offered to in-state students.
