Rain and flooding this year have been hard on farmers in our area as well as other parts of Pennsylvania, but some help is on the way in the form of federal disaster relief. The US Department of Agriculture has approved disaster funding for farmers in 14 eastern and central PA counties. Farmers who suffered crop damage due to this year's unusually wet weather can apply. Gov. Tom Wolf says this aid can help farmers recoup losses from this year and get a head start on the 2019 growing season. Farmers in Columbia, Lebanon, and York counties are eligible, as well as those in the adjacent counties of Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, and Sullivan.
