Bridge Replacements Ahead Of Schedule

PennDOT says it has completed the replacement of 500 bridges in poor condition across the state in record time. Work has been completed on 511 of 558 "poor condition" bridges targeted for replacement under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project which began in 2013. While such projects usually take 8 to 12 years, the work has been done over 3 to 4 years under the state's Public-Private Partnership law. Hampered by this year's bad weather, the poor condition bridge replacement projects which have yet to be finished, are expected to conclude next year.
