New Tougher DUI Law Goes Into Effect In PA

A new law with tougher penalties for repeat DUI offenders went into effect on Sunday in Pennsylvania. DUI becomes a felony on the driver’s fourth offense or third offense if their blood-alcohol level is twice the legal limit or higher. The new law also increases the penalties for homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and for driving while under a DUI-related license suspension. Governor Wolf signed the bill into law back in October.
