Partnership Conserves 750 Acres In Sullivan County

The Pennsylvania Game Commission and The Conservation Fund have announced the purchase of 752 acres of forestland near Red Rock in Sullivan County. Bordered on three sides by Ricketts Glen State Park and State Game Lands (SGL) 13 and 57, the organizations say the property provides habitat for a variety of migratory birds, popular game animals, aquatic life and threatened and endangered species. Some of the funding for the purchase came from Williams in connection with the construction and operation of the company’s Atlantic Sunrise natural gas pipeline project. Now part of State Game Lands 13, the land is open to the public for hiking, hunting, fishing and wildlife-viewing.
