Bloomsburg Town Council Whittles Down Tax Hike

Bloomsburg Town Council will hold a special meeting next Friday, December 28th to vote on a 2019 budget that will include about a 2-and-half percent real estate tax increase. Town council had voted down a proposed budget that included a 9 percent tax hike just last week. Council was able whittle down the increase by making cuts in nearly every department and increasing revenues through the amusement and gross receipts tax as well as higher parking permit fees.
