Geisinger President and CEO Dr. David Feinberg is stepping down to head-up health care initiatives at Google. Geisinger’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jaewon Ryu, will take over as interim President and CEO effective December 1st. A news release from Geisinger says Dr. Feinberg will remain at Geisinger until January 3rd to help facilitate a smooth transition. Feinberg came to Geisinger in 2015 after serving as CEO of UCLA's hospitals and president of UCLA Health System. Back in June, Feinberg said he was 100% committed to staying at Geisinger when his name surfaced as a possible pick to lead the Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, JP Morgan joint venture to fix health care in the U.S. At Google, Feinberg will join former Cleveland Clinic CEO Dr. Toby Cosgrove, who recently became an advisor to Google Cloud.
