A well-known store in Columbia County that closed over the summer has reopened with new owners and a new name. Palachick’s along Route 42 in Numidia which closed in July after 65 years in business was bought by business partners Todd Sabo and Scott Horne and remodeled. It reopened Monday as the Numidia General Store. Horne says the store still has hand dipped ice cream, deli meats, sandwiches and much of the original shelving. One difference between the old and new is the store now take credit cards. Numidia General Store is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week on Route 42 in Numidia.
