Neighborhood Grant Bill Headed To Senate Floor

Legislation aimed at sparking development in economically distressed areas of Pennsylvania is on its way to the full state Senate. The bill approved by the Senate Finance Committee increases the tax credit offered through the Neighborhood Assistance Program. Senator Scott Hutchinson who chairs the committee, says it doubles the maximum grant from 18 to 36 million dollars. An amendment offered by Senator Jay Costa which also won committee approval, places the bill's effective date at July first 2019, coinciding with the start of the next fiscal year.
