Tighter DUI Laws On The Way

Those in the fight against drunk driving are pleased with the Pennsylvania legislature’s recent passage of a bill to strengthen the state's DUI laws, which Governor Wolf is expected to sign. Pennsylvania Parents Against Impaired Driving co-founder Chris Demko, whose 18-year old daughter was killed by a repeat DUI offender, is pleased that the legislation will strengthen penalties against repeat offenders. Demko hopes those caught driving drunk the first time, will think twice about doing it again knowing the stiffer penalties they could face. Pennsylvania has long had some of the most lenient drunk driving laws in the country.
