Danville Gets Grant For New Park

The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is awarding a $290-thousand dollars state grant to help Danville develop Canal Park on Mill Street. The borough plans to close Canal Street and combine several parcels of land to create a recreational park in the heart of Danville at 436 Mill St. Plans call for cafe tables and seating in a plaza, an amphitheater, a mural, lights, signs and landscaping. This is the second state grant awarded for the project. The state Department of Community and Economic Development had previously announced a $261-thousand dollar grant for developing Canal Park.
