AAA Says Be Cautious When Hiring Limos

With last weekend's deadly crash in upstate New York raising questions about limousine safety, Pennsylvania residents considering hiring a limo service are urged to do their homework. Just as you would if you were hiring a home improvement contractor, Triple-A Mid-Atlantic spokesperson Kathleen Zinszer says its important to ask key questions when considering hiring a limousine service: are the vehicles in compliance with regulations, are they insured, and are the drivers properly certified? Zinszer says to ask if a limo driver's speed and driving habits are monitored by GPS. Zinszer says limousines with seating capacities for 10 passengers and stretch limousines with seating capacities between 10 and 15 passengers are required to have seat belts.
