EMS In PA Feeling Strained

Emergency medical services in Pennsylvania are continuing to face a crisis. With a worker shortage, inadequate reimbursements and more workers being assaulted on the job by patients, Donald DeReamus of the Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania says EMS services in PA are facing a multi-faceted crisis. He says EMS services need reimbursements which pay for the services they provide, noting that for the first time since 2004 they have a Medicaid increase coming in January.
