The Jubilate Choir and Orchestra presents “The Spirit of the Christmas Season” today at 3:00 PM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. The church is located on North Market Street in Bloomsburg.

 

The Bloomsburg University Jazz Ensemble invites you to a flapjack fundraiser this morning from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at Applebees in Bloomsburg. Cost is $7.00, and proceeds benefit the ensemble's trip to New Orleans for The Crescent City Jazz Festival.

 

The 3rd Annual Community Christmas Dinner is this afternoon at the Caldwell Consistory in Downtown Bloomsburg. There is no charge for the meal, and there will be activities for children during the meal. Doors open at Noon, music and activities start at 12:30 PM.

 

The annual German School Christmas open house is this afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 PM in Mifflinville. The school is located at the corner of Third and Race Streets.

BU Football

Three members of the Bloomsburg University football team were named to the Beyond Sports Network Division II All American team. Junior running back Franklyn Quiteh was named to the first team; junior offensive lineman Brian Clarke was named second team; and senior defensive end Larry Webster was a third team selection.

 

BU Basketball

The Bloomsburg University Men's and Women's basketball teams both faced challenges Saturday afternoon when the Huskies played at Millersville. Both Husky teams lost; the Women's final was 62-55, the Men's final was 62-49. You can hear all the details with Jim Doyle in the WHLM Husky Post Game Report:

 

 

HS Basketball

High school basketball's regular season tipped off Friday night. At the McCloskey Center in Danville, two boys' teams that combined for 45 wins last season- Danville and Pottsville, met in a game you heard on the WHLM Stations. Danville was the winner in the close match, 46-45.
