9:00AM 5:00PM Fall Arts and Crafts Festival Downtown Danville presents the Annual Fall Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday September 7th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. More than 100 crafters will fill Mill Street. There will be free parking and shuttle service.
9:00AM 1:00PM Zombie 5K and Preparedness Day The Berwick Area United Way and the American Red Cross present the Zombie 5K and Preparedness Day on Saturday September 7th at Test Track Park in Berwick from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. They’re looking for Runners and the Undead. There will be food vendors, local insurance information, preparedness kits, and zombie face painting. 9:00AM 11:00AM Memorial Walk for the Heart The 1st Annual Holly McAnall Memorial Walk for the Heart is scheduled for Saturday September 7th in Bloomsburg Town Park. Registration starts at 9:00 AM and the walk starts at 10:00 AM. It’s a 2-mile walk benefiting Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute Women’s Heart and Vascular Health Fund.
10:00AM 4:00PM Grandparents Day The Children’s Museum in Bloomsburg invites your kids to Grandparents Day on Saturday September 7th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Grandparents and kids can enjoy old-fashioned games and toys, special make and take crafts, storytime, and a sing along. Free admission for grandparents.
10:00AM 12:00PM Trains The Free Saturday Trains program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville will be open this Saturday from 10:00 Am to Noon. The display features the talking train, an 18-wheel Pennsylvania Bantam, and a model merry-go-round. Visitors can watch videos of steam engines operating on local railroad tracks in the 30s and 40s.
10:00AM 12:00PM Saturday Trains The Free Saturday Trains program is open at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church from 10:00 AM to Noon. They feature their talking train and a model merry go round that adults and kids can play with. The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
11:00AM 3:00PM Fall Car and Craft Show The Orangeville Volunteer Fire Company will host their 3rd annual fall car show on Saturday September 7th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be a craft and vendor show going on as well. It’s all happening at the Orangeville Fire Company Carnival Grounds.
12:00PM 8:00PM Art Gallery Artspace Gallery will open an exhibit featuring new clay work by Sara Baker and fiber by Denise Richards on Thursday August 22nd. Recordings of music composed by Sean Richards Teeter will play during the show. The show runs through September 29th with an opening reception on August 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
12:00PM 4:00PM Trains The free Wheelchair Engineers Train Program at the Columbia Mall in Bloomsburg is open every Sunday from Noon to 4:00 PM. The display is handicap accessible and features a vintage American Flyer and a Dillon Floral limited-edition train with a puffing MTH steam engine. The display is up and running at the Sears end of the mall.

3:00PM 7:00PM Spaghetti Dinner There’s a benefit happening at the Jerseytown Community Center on Saturday September 7th for a local man battling Multiple Sclerosis. It’s a spaghetti dinner from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Money raised will go toward making his home handicap accessible. The group is also looking for anyone with plumbing and construction skills along with donations of building materials. For more information contact Gemmi at 437-2353.
3:00PM 9:00PM Poetry Festival The 5th annual Stillwater Poetry Festival is happening this Saturday at the municipal park in Stillwater from 3:00 to 9:00 PM rain or shine. Admission is free. There willb e open mic sessions, acoustic music, and a magnetic poetry contest. Stillwater is just 21 miles north of Bloomsburg on Route 487.
All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Car Raffle Central Susquehanna Sight Services are hosting a car raffle. They’re giving a way a 2013 Honda Insight Hybrid with 40 second prizes valued at $100. All Day Historical Society Bus Trip The Columbia County Historical and Genealogical Society is hosting a Bus Trip on Saturday September 7th to Union Canal Tunnel Park and Cornwall Iron Furnace. Cost is $40.00 for society members, $45.00 for non-members. Reservations are needed by August 15th. Contact the society at 784-1600.
