7:00AM 9:30AM Breakfast Roaring Creek Valley United Methodist Church will host their monthly Breakfast for a donation this Saturday from 7:00 to 9:30 AM. They’re serving up bacon, eggs, toast, French toast, ham, and other breakfast favorites. This month’s donations support Wesley Soup Kitchen and Alexis Apichell. The church is located on Orchard Drive in Catawissa.
10:00AM 3:00PM AGAPE-Palooza AGAPE presents the annual AGAPE-Palooza on Saturday August 17th in Bloomsburg Town Park from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be fun, food, music, games, entertainment, and fellowship. And you’ll have the chance to learn about our community resources.
10:00AM 12:00PM Trains The free Saturday Trains program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church is open each Saturday from 10:00 AM to Noon. They feature the model merry go round, the talking train, and dozens of trains adults and kids can play with. The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
10:00AM 12:00PM Saturday Trains Program The Free Saturday Trains program is open each Saturday at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville from 10:00 AM to Noon. They feature their talking train, a model merry-go-round, and videos of steam engines from the 30s and 40s. The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
10:00AM 4:00PM Peach Festival St. Johns United Church of Christ in Wapwallopen is hosting a peach festival on Saturday August 17th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission and parking are free. There will be homemade peach ice cream, peach shortcake sundaes, peach pie, corn on the cob, French fries, hot dogs and hamburgers.
12:00PM 4:00PM Wheelchair Engineers The free Wheelchair Engineers Train program at the Columbia Mall is open each Saturday from Noon to 4:00 PM. They have a vintage American Flyer and the Dillon Floral limited-edition train with a puffing MTH steam engine. The layout is handicapped-accessible. The layout is at the Sears end of the Columbia Mall.
4:00PM 9:00PM Italian Festival St. Joseph’s Church in Berwick will host an Italian Festival Friday August 16ht through Sunday August 18th. Friday and Saturday the festival is happening from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from Noon to 5:00 PM. There will be Italian Foods, Kid’s Games, Crafts, Money Raffle, Basket Raffle, Games of Chance, and Entertainment. The church is located on Monroe Street in Berwick.
All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Car Raffle Central Susquehanna Sight Services are hosting a car raffle. They’re giving a way a 2013 Honda Insight Hybrid with 40 second prizes valued at $100. All Day The Enchanted Pig Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble presents their annual summer family show “The Enchanted Pig” July 18th through the 28th. It’s happening at the Alvina Krause Theatre in Downtown Bloomsburg. Show times are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays at 1:00 PM, Thursday Friday and Saturdays at 7:00 PM, and Sundays at 3:00 PM. All Day Montour Delong Community Fair The 75th annual Montour Delong Community Fair is happening Monday August 12th through Saturday August 17th. There’s free admission, free entertainment, and $3.00 parking. Exhibit buildings will open at 4:00 PM Monday to Friday and Noon on Saturday. To get to the fairgrounds from Route 54 take Route 254 West one mile to the fairgrounds.
All Day Battle of the Bands The Berwick Area United Way hopes you’ll come out to the Battle of the Bands on Saturday August 17th between the Elk’s Club and JJ’s. The battle starts at 2:00 PM, and benefits the Ber-Vaughn Pool.
All Day Kayak River Float AGAPE hopes you’ll join them on a Kayak Ride Saturday August 17th. It’s a pre-plaooza float down the Susquehanna Rive from Espy to Bloomsburg. Day of registration is $40 per person with your own kayak or $75 per person including Kayak. Proceeds support AGAPE’s work in our communities. For more information contact AGAPE at 317-2210.
All Day Hillbilly Fever Days It’s Hillbilly Fever Days in Possum Hollow Park in Beavertown August 13th through 17th. There’s food, games, vendors, and children’s wagon rides. Nightly entertainment at 7:00 and 9:00 PM. Located in Beavertown on Route 522.
All Day Union Township Carnival The 55th annual Union Township Fire Company Carnival is happening Thursday August 15th through Saturday August 17th. Food, games, music, with free parking and mission. Nightly entertainment starts at 7:00 PM. There will be a money and prize raffle with the drawing Saturday night at 10:00 PM. Dinner is served from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. To enter the carnival grounds use Nelson Road off of Route 15th.
6:00PM 11:55PM Valley Chemical Carnival You’re invited to the Valley Chemical Carnival Thursday August 15th through Saturday August 17th. The carnival opens up at 6:00 PM nightly, with entertainment from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. They’ll have games, food and fun for your entire family. They’re located behind the Locust Township Municipal Building off Route 42 in Numidia.
All Day Ride for Leukemia Join the Ride for Leukemia Saturday August 17th in Berwick. It’s a bike rally and rod show with Chinese Auction, 50/50 drawing, and music by Insidious Sounds. Registration is at 11:00 AM, kickstands up at 1:00 PM. Cost is $15 per rider, $10 per passenger and includes meal after. Walk-ins are $5.00, children under 3 eat free. It’s at JJ’s Bar and Grill in Berwick.
All Day Jack's Mountain Blues Festival Jack’s Mountain Blues Festival is happening at the West End Fairgrounds in Laurelton this Friday and Saturday. Both days are packed with bands including local favorites. A portion of the proceeds from the festival go to the Taylor Bingaman Health Care fund and Camp Spifida. The fairgrounds are located in Laurelton.
