10:00AM 12:00PM Trains The Free Saturday Trains Program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville is open each Saturday from 10:00 AM to Noon. They feature their talking train and a new model merry-go-round that you and kids can play with. The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
10:00AM 1:00PM Summer Reading Program The Columbia County Traveling Library is offering a Summer Reading program for pre-school and school-age children who do not live in the service areas of the libraries in Bloomsburg, Orangeville, and Berwick. They're hosting a kickoff party this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Rohrbach's Farm Market in Catawissa. Pickles the Clown will be there along with craft activities and refreshments. Enrollment for the program is open through August.
12:00PM 4:00PM Model Trains The handicapped accessible model trail layout at the Columbia Mall will be open every Saturday from Noon to 4:00 PM. The layout is located at the Sears end of the Columbia Mall.
5:00PM 11:00PM Brewsburg Downtown Bloomsburg Inc hopes you'll join them this Saturday at Brewsburg at the Caldwell Consistory. From 5:00 to 11:00 PM they'll have local breweries and restaurants on hand along with plenty of musical entertainment. Tickets at the door are $30.00.
All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties. All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Pineknotter Days The annual Pineknotter Days are happening in Northumberland. There’s entertainment, concessions, and more all week long. They’re going on Saturday June 29th through Friday July 5th. It’s happening in King Street Park.
All Day Head Start Recruitment The Columbia Sullivan Head Start program is now recruiting children for the 2013-2014 program year. Head start is federal funded pre-school program that emphasizes education, health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, social services and parent involvement. All Day Golf Tournament The Knights of Columbus Berwick Council will host their 2nd annual golf tournament on Saturday June 29th at Rolling Pines. Registration is at 12:30 PM, and it’s a four-man scramble with shot gun start at 1:30 PM. Entry fee is $65 per person…and includes golf, food and beverages, cart, dinner and prizes. Applications must be in by Monday June 24th and checks must accompany application. Send checks and names of foursome to Knights of Columbus in Berwick. 100% of the proceeds go to PA Wounded Warrior.
All Day Rummage Sale St. Columbia is hosting a rummage sale on Friday June 28th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday June 29th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. They’re located at the corner of 3rd and Iron Streets in Bloomsburg. The sale is sponsored by St. Columbia’s Music Ministry.
All Day Millville Carnival It’s time for the annual Millville Carnival Friday June 28th through Saturday July 6th. There’s nightly entertainment and food. The pet and Toy parade is Tuesday July 2nd. Thursday July 4th it’s the all you can eat breakfast at the cheese steak stand, Independence Day Parade, and a low-level fireworks show at 10:00 PM on the Little League Field. Saturday July 6th is the gigantic fireworks display at midnight. Shuttle bus is available all week long from Woolcock Oil Company.
