7:30AM 12:00PM Robbins Run 5K/10K The annual Robbins Run 5K and 10K Race and Hess Fest is scheduled for Saturday June 8th. The race is 90% trail and mostly flat run all near water and on old rail lines. Race-day registration starts at 7:30 AM. The race starts at 9:00 AM, with a kids’ race starting at 10:00 AM. 8:00AM 12:00PM Trash To Treasure The Columbia County United Way annual Trash To Treasure Yard Sale is happening Saturday June 8th at the Kehr Union at Bloomsburg University. Early Bird sale hours are 8:00 to 9:00 AM, and early bird admission is $5.00. Regular sale hours are 9:00 AM to Noon. They’ll have computers, furniture, electronics, and household appliances.
10:00AM 12:00PM 10k and Fun Run The 33rd annual Coal Cracker 10K and Fun Run is happening Saturday June 8th in Downtown Shenandoah. Race time is 10:00 AM…and it’ll start in the first block of North Main Street. There will be a post-race pierogie party for runners.
10:00AM 2:00PM Car Wash Fundraiser M-C Federal Credit Union in Danville will host a car wash fundraiser for the Danville Little League on Saturday June 8th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Car wash is $5, and they’ll be selling hot dogs, baked goods, soda, and chips too. M-C Federal is located on Walnut Street in Danville.
All Day Bloomsburg Realy For Life The American Cancer Society will host the annual Bloomsburg Relay For Life Friday June 7th through Saturday June 8th at Bloomsburg Town Park. Events start at noon on Friday and continue straight through Saturday at noon. Stop by to support this year’s teams and join the fight against cancer.
All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties. All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Head Start Recruitment The Columbia Sullivan Head Start program is now recruiting children for the 2013-2014 program year. Head start is federal funded pre-school program that emphasizes education, health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, social services and parent involvement. All Day Loose Ties Model Railroad Display The Loose Ties Model Railroad Club will open their huge display of operating trains at the Columbia Mall on Saturday June 8th and Sunday June 9th. Their displays feature over 60 trains and 10,000 feet of track. Hours are Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
7:00PM 9:00PM Bloomsburg Bicentennial Choir The Bloomsburg Bicentennial Choir presents “God Gave Us Music” on Saturday June 8th and Sunday June 9th at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg. Performances are at 7:00 PM each evening. This year’s concert features “A Touch of Brass.” No tickets are required for admission.
