8:00AM 12:00PM Fishing Derby Bloomsburg Town Park will host the annual fishing derby this Saturday at the Lagoon. Registration is from 8:00 to 9:00 AM, and the derby is from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Prizes will be awarded. It’s open to your kids ages 11 and under.
8:00AM 10:00AM Breakfast Fundraiser RCV Little League Baseball and Softball will host a breakfast at Applebees in Bloomsburg this Saturday from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. They’re serving up all you can eat pancakes and sausage for $7.00. Proceeds benefit little league baseball and softball.
9:00AM 5:00PM Car Wash The Rebuild Bloomsburg Skate Park committee will host a benefit this Saturday. Come get your car washed at the future site of Marley’s on Route 11 in Bloomsburg. They’ll be there form 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Proceeds benefit the Skate Park in Bloomsburg Town Park.
9:00AM 5:00PM Spring Fling Danville’s 27th Annual Spring Fling is on Saturday May 4th from 9 AM to 5 PM. Rain or Shine. This event brings almost 200 vendors to Mill, East Mahoning, West Mahoning, and Lower Mulberry Streets.Vendors offer a huge variety of crafts and food. This is a family-friendly event with free live entertainment, free parking, free shuttle service, and free admission.
10:00AM 4:00PM Mothers Day Flower Sale The Defender Fire Company #3 is hosting a Mother’s Day Flower Sale Saturday May 4th and Sunday May 5th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. They will also sell flowers Saturday May 11th and Sunday May 12th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The fire company is located at 6th and Pine Streets in Berwick.
10:00AM 12:00PM Saturday Trains The Free Saturday Trains Program will be open at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville from 10:00 AM to Noon each Saturday. They feature their “talking train” and a new model merry-go-round. Adults and children can play with the trains. Over 1,000 icicle lights decorate the display.
10:00AM 4:00PM Teacher Appreciation Day The Children’s Museum invites you to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day on Saturday May 4th from 10 AM to 4 PM. There will be Traveling Educational Kits on display, science demonstrations, special crafts and more. Admission is $6 and free for children ages 2 and under. Teachers will be admitted for free. The Children’s Museum is located on West 7th Street in Bloomsburg.
11:00AM 6:00PM Spring Carnival AM Vets Post 93 invite you to their Spring Carnival on Saturday May 4th from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Celebrate our freedom and soldiers with great food and games for all. The carnival will be in the AM Vets parking lot on 3rd Street in Nescopeck.
4:00PM 7:00PM Praise Jesus Day Community of Christ Church in Bloomsburg invites you to Praise Jesus Day on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. There will be live music, free food and fellowship. The church is located at 8th and Market Streets in Bloomsburg.
5:00PM 11:55PM Bloom FD Carnival The Bloomsburg Fire Department is holding their annual carnival Wednesday May 1st through Saturday May 4th. The carnival starts at 5:00 PM each night. Lots of food and entertainment. Wednesday it’s the Catawissa Military Band, Thursday is Beef, Friday is Crossfire, and Saturday is Lucky Afternoon. The carnival will kick off with the Kiwanis Pet and Toy Parade Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The line forms at 5:00 PM behind the Columbia County Courthouse.
All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties. All Day Flag Collection The Orangeville Public Library is collecting worn US Flags during the month of May. A drop-off box is located inside the library. A proper retirement ceremony will be preformed by the boy scouts of Troop 9 in June. The library is located at 301 Mill Street in Orangeville.
All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Marcellus Shale Documentary Project The Moose Exchange in Downtown Bloomsburg presents the Marcellus Shale Documentary Project through June 8th.
