3:50PM 8:00PM Strike Out Cancer Softball Game The first annual Strike Out Cancer Softball Game is happening Thursday May 2nd at the Bloomsburg High School Softball Field on Railroad Street. The game will feature the Bloomsburg High School and Columbia Montour Vo Tech Girls’ Softball teams, both varsity and JV. Salty Ferguson from “A League of Her Own” will throw out the first pitch at 3:50 PM. It’s happening in memory of Carissa Barrett and fighting for Austin Giger.
5:00PM 11:55PM Bloom FD Carnival The Bloomsburg Fire Department is holding their annual carnival Wednesday May 1st through Saturday May 4th. The carnival starts at 5:00 PM each night. Lots of food and entertainment. Wednesday it’s the Catawissa Military Band, Thursday is Beef, Friday is Crossfire, and Saturday is Lucky Afternoon. The carnival will kick off with the Kiwanis Pet and Toy Parade Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The line forms at 5:00 PM behind the Columbia County Courthouse.

All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties.
