They’ll be set up at the civil war monument with their 2013 Honda Insight Hybrid on display. Enter for your chance to win the car. Proceeds from the raffle benefit prevention of blindness and services for the blind and visually impaired.
10:00AM 2:00PM Prescription Drug Takeback Day Local Police Departments and the Columbia County Conservation District will be taking back unwanted, expired, and unsed prescription drugs on Saturday April 27th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Locations participating include the Bloomsburg, Berwick, Catawissa, Locust Township, South Centre and Millville Police Departments. Along with Hemlock Township at Walmart and the Berwick Borough Building. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
10:00AM 12:00PM Gospel Business Mens Fellowship The Columbia Montour Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International will meet on Saturday April 27th at 10:00 Am at Spirit Life Church. Guest speaker is John McTernan, founder of Defend and Proclaim Faith Ministries. The church is located on Old Berwick Road in Bloomsburg.

Don’t miss the excitement with fun activities for all ages, over a hundred arts and crafts booths and games, live music and children’s shows as well as a performance by local dance groups. Free parking will be available at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
10:00AM 4:00PM Best Holiday Ever The Children’s Museum will host the event Best Holiday Ever on Saturday April 27th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Enjoy all of your favorite holidays on one day under one roof. Breakfast with Santa, egg scavenger hunt, leprechaun trap building workshop, countdown to noon, costume contest and parade, birthday games and more. The event is $6 admission and free for children ages 2 and under. Wear a costume or holiday inspired clothing for $1 off admission. The Children’s Museum is located on West 7th Street in Bloomsburg.
10:00AM 12:00PM Saturday Train Program The Free Saturday Trains Program is open as usual at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church from 10:00 AM to Noon. There are dozens of trains and the new model merry-go-round for you and your kids to play with. The display is decorated with icicle lights, and they feature their “Talking Train.” The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
2:00PM 7:00PM BTE Free Preview The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble gives a free preview of their 2013 Theatre In the Classroom tour on Saturday April 27th during Renaissance Jamboree at Phillips Emporium in Bloomsburg at 2:00 PM. It’s a free show titled “Patchworks: Life and Legends of the Coal Towns.”
3:00PM 7:00PM Haddock Fish Dinner The Montour-Delong Fairgrounds will host another All You Can Eat Haddock Fish Dinner on Saturday April 27th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Meals will be $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for younger children. Meals will also be served free to any active military personnel dressed in uniform. Take-outs will be available. The fairgrounds are located on Broadway Road in Danville.
3:00PM 6:00PM Chicken Bar-B-Cue The Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Company is hosting a Chicken Bar-B-Que dinner on Saturday April 27th from 3 to 6 PM. Dinner includes ½ barbequed chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans, roll and dessert. The cost is $8 for a dinner or $4 for just the ½ barbequed chicken. The fire company is located on Strawberry Ridge Road in Washingtonville.
4:30PM 6:30PM Ice Cream Social Town Hill United Methodist Church invites you to their ice cream social on Saturday April 27th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. They’ll be selling ice cream, pies, soups, and sandwiches with takeouts available. The church is located on Town Hill Road in Shickshinny.
All Day Kidsburg at Renaissance Jamboree The Kidsburg 2.0 committee invites you to stop by their booth this Saturday at Renaissance Jamboree in Downtown Bloomsburg. They’ll be near the fountain with playground-inspired food, crafts, games, stories and surprises. They invite you to drop off your coins to donate, and help them make crafts to sell! All of Kidsburg 2.0 efforts go toward rebuilding the playground in Bloomsburg Town Park.
All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties. All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Christmas Card Design Contest Father’s Hope is holding their first Christmas card design contest for local youth. Entries must be submitted by May 31st at the office building at 21 North Arch Street in Milton. The theme for the contest is “Merry Christmas In Any Language: Jesus Loves The Orphan Children Of The World.” The contest is open to youth entered in kindergarten through 12th grade. The winning designer will be awarded $50. Entries must be in color and created by hand.
All Day Art Installation Project Bloomsburg University’s Haas Center for the Arts will soon become home to an original art piece designed to celebrate the collaboration of the university and the greater Bloomsburg community. The piece, titled Confluence, will be a 7 foot by 60 foot depiction of the growth and activity of a small town and how the beauty of nature has inspired a wealth of visual art and cultural enrichment in the area. 19 Susquehanna River Artists have collaborated to construct 18 large tiles that will be installed every two weeks until the piece is completed on May 3rd.
