9:00AM 5:00PM Spring Craft Fest The Marketplace at 10th Street Plaza in Bloomsburg will host a spring craft fest on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It’s happening Rain or Shine.
9:00AM 10:30AM Don't Sweat It AGAPE presents a free workshop titled “Don’t Sweat It” this Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. The workshop is for stress management, anxiety, and depression. AGAPE is located on East Seventh Street in Bloomsburg.
9:30AM 12:00PM The Line The Women of Wesley United Methodist Church will host a screening of the documentary film “The Line” this Saturday morning. The film is about the narrow divide between those who manage to make ends meet and those who struggle to put food on the table. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served starting at 9:30 AM followed by the film. The church is located at the corner of Third and Market Streets in Bloomsburg.
10:00AM 4:00PM Science Day The Children’s Museum will be hosting Science Day on Saturday April 13th from 10 AM to 4 PM. There will be interactive science experiments for children of all ages, demonstrations every hour, and FOSS Science Kits on Display. Admission is $6 and free for children ages 2 and under. The Children’s Museum is located on West 7th Street in Bloomsburg.
10:00AM 12:00PM Saturday Train Program The Free Saturday Trains Program is open as usual at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church from 10:00 AM to Noon. There are dozens of trains and the new model merry-go-round for you and your kids to play with. The display is decorated with icicle lights, and they feature their “Talking Train.” The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
12:00PM 5:00PM Train Display The Loose Ties Model Railroad Society will open their huge display of operating trains at the Columbia Mall on Saturday April 13th and Sunday April 14th. They feature more than 60 trains and 10,000 feet of track. Hours are Saturday from Noon to 5:00 PM and Sunday from Noon to 4:00 PM.
3:00PM 6:30PM Roast Beef Dinner Straub’s Lutheran Church invites you to a roast beef dinner on Saturday April 13th from 3:00 to 6:30 PM. Dinners will be served family style with take-outs available. Homemade ice cream will be sold by the quart. The church is located at 60 Frosty Valley Road in Danville.
4:00PM 7:00PM Turkey and Waffle Dinner The Royal Order of Raccoons of Columbia County are hosting an all you can eat turkey and waffle dinner on Saturday April 13th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Benton Fire Hall. Advance tickets are $6.00, door tickets will be $8.00, and take-outs will be available. The fire hall is located on Colley Street in Benton.
4:00PM 6:00PM Ham and Dandelion Dinner The Potts Grove Fire Hall invites you to a ham and dandelion dinner on Saturday April 13th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Menu includes ham, dandelion, sides, beverage and dessert. Cost is $10 for you, $5 for children…and proceeds benefit the fire company. The Potts Grove Fire Hall is off Route 642 between Danville and Milton.
All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties. All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Christmas Card Design Contest Father’s Hope is holding their first Christmas card design contest for local youth. Entries must be submitted by May 31st at the office building at 21 North Arch Street in Milton. The theme for the contest is “Merry Christmas In Any Language: Jesus Loves The Orphan Children Of The World.” The contest is open to youth entered in kindergarten through 12th grade. The winning designer will be awarded $50. Entries must be in color and created by hand.
All Day Art Installation Project Bloomsburg University’s Haas Center for the Arts will soon become home to an original art piece designed to celebrate the collaboration of the university and the greater Bloomsburg community. The piece, titled Confluence, will be a 7 foot by 60 foot depiction of the growth and activity of a small town and how the beauty of nature has inspired a wealth of visual art and cultural enrichment in the area. 19 Susquehanna River Artists have collaborated to construct 18 large tiles that will be installed every two weeks until the piece is completed on May 3rd.
6:00PM 8:00PM Artist Reception Artspace Gallery invites you to an artist reception on Saturday April 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The newest display is titled “Fiber and Fairytales” featuring work by Linda Doucette and Sara Mika. The Gallery is located on Center Street in Bloomsburg, and the exhibit will be up through May 19th.
