10:00AM 10:30AM Story Time Story time continues at the Bloomsburg Public Library each Wednesday at 10:00 AM for your good listeners ages three to five. The half-hour program begins with stories and ends with a coloring project. The library is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
11:00AM 4:00PM Job Fair The PA Career Link Carbon County Job Fair is scheduled for Wednesday April 10th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It’s happening at Memorial Hall in Jim Thorpe. Several local employers will be on hand for you to make contact with.
All Day Volunteers Needed The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for their “Road to Recovery” program. You can volunteer your spare time to provide free transportation taking cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteer Drivers are needed in Columbia and Montour Counties. All Day Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Volunteer Income Tax Assistance will be at Wesley United Methodist Church every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until Wednesday April 10th. VITA helps the members of Bloomsburg and its surrounding counties prepare federal, state, and local tax returns. The Wesley United Methodist Church is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
All Day Christmas Card Design Contest Father’s Hope is holding their first Christmas card design contest for local youth. Entries must be submitted by May 31st at the office building at 21 North Arch Street in Milton. The theme for the contest is “Merry Christmas In Any Language: Jesus Loves The Orphan Children Of The World.” The contest is open to youth entered in kindergarten through 12th grade. The winning designer will be awarded $50. Entries must be in color and created by hand.
All Day Art Installation Project Bloomsburg University’s Haas Center for the Arts will soon become home to an original art piece designed to celebrate the collaboration of the university and the greater Bloomsburg community. The piece, titled Confluence, will be a 7 foot by 60 foot depiction of the growth and activity of a small town and how the beauty of nature has inspired a wealth of visual art and cultural enrichment in the area. 19 Susquehanna River Artists have collaborated to construct 18 large tiles that will be installed every two weeks until the piece is completed on May 3rd.
