10:00AM 12:00PM Easter EGG-Stravaganza Faith Assembly invites you to their annual Easter EGG-Stravaganza on Saturday March 23rd from 10 AM to 12 PM. The largest egg hunt in the Hazleton Area has over ten thousand Easter eggs, lots of prizes, games, crafts, and a giant inflatable slide. The entire event is free. Children pre-school to 6th grade should bring an empty basket and will surely leave with it full.
11:00AM 2:00PM Doggie Egg Hunt There will be a Doggie Egg Hunt on Saturday March 23rd at Sunlight Feed and Pet Supply from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Owners and dogs will be searching for biscuits in a fenced in area...and all dog will have goodie bags. They'll be raising money for the Mostly Mutts Dog Shelter. Sunlight is on Route 11 in Bloomsburg.
2:00PM 10:00PM Baseball Benefit food, music, auction, BYOB The Millville Maniacs invite you to a day of fun at the Moose Exchange in Downtown Bloomsburg on Saturday March 23rd from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It’s an adult only event filled with local bands, musicians, Chinese Auction, Food and it’s a BYOB event. Tickets are just $20.00 and proceeds benefit the Millville Maniacs Youth Baseball Team and their trip to Disney for week-long tournament this summer. 3:00PM 7:00PM Haddock Fish Dinner The Montour-DeLong Fairgrounds is serving up an All-You-Can-Eat Haddock Fish Dinner on Saturday March 23rd from 3 to 7 PM. Cost is $12 for you and $6 for children 6 to 12. Any active military person who comes in uniform will receive their dinner for free. Take out is available at 437-2178. The Montour-DeLong Fairgrounds is located on Broadway Road in Danville.
4:00PM 7:00PM Dandelion/ Hot Lettuce and Ham Dinner The Grace United Church of Christ is serving up an All-You-Can-Eat Dandelion/ Hot Lettuce and Ham Dinner on Saturday March 23rd from 4 to 7 PM. All Day Scriptual Lenten Series St. Cyril Spiritual Center in Danville is hosting a Scriptural Lenten Series starting Monday February 18th for 7 consecutive Mondays. The sessions will be held morning and evening…with the hope to help participants grow progressively in grace and in spiritual freedom. You can attend one day or the entire series. All Day Columbia Count Bicentennia Celebration Join in for the Columbia County Bicentennial 200th Anniversary Celebration on Friday March 22nd and Saturday March 23rd. The celebration begins at Noon on Friday with a Re-Enactment of Columbia County separating from Northumberland Count at the Courthouse. Then on Friday evening, a free concert by the Navy Band Northeast. Events on Saturday March 23rd are from 11 AM to 9 PM at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds Arts And Crafts Building. There will be vendors, games, door prizes, and free entertainment. Other Saturday events include a 5K Walk/ Run at Noon, a Parade at 2 PM, The Time Capsule at 7 PM and then Fireworks at Dusk.
All Day SMILE Meeting SMILE is happy to announce that they will now host meetings in Bloomsburg and Berwick. SMILE is a group for single mothers to get together for support and friendship. Meetings in Bloomsburg will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Bloomsburg Christian Church. In Berwick at the New Covenant Christian Center on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. All Day Moreland the Magician The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble welcome back Associate Ensemble member David Moreland to present two performances “Moreland the Magician” on Saturday March 23rd. The first will be a special “free preview” performance at the Columbia County Bicentennial Celebration at the Arts and Crafts Building on the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds at Noon. Then a full “pay what you wish” performance will be at 6 PM at the Alvina Krause Theatre on Center Street in Downtown Bloomsburg. All proceeds will benefit Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble.
All Day American Cancer Societ Wig Program The American Cancer Society is providing free wigs and head coverings for any woman who is experiencing hair loss as a result of cancer treatment. According to a recent study, nearly 60 percent of women consider hair loss the most dreaded side effect of cancer treatment. Appointments for the wig program can be made by calling 1-800-227-2345.
All Day Art Installation Project Bloomsburg University’s Haas Center for the Arts will soon become home to an original art piece designed to celebrate the collaboration of the university and the greater Bloomsburg community. The piece, titled Confluence, will be a 7 foot by 60 foot depiction of the growth and activity of a small town and how the beauty of nature has inspired a wealth of visual art and cultural enrichment in the area. 19 Susquehanna River Artists have collaborated to construct 18 large tiles that will be installed every two weeks until the piece is completed on May 3rd.
All Day Rummage and Bake Sale First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsburg is hosting their annual spring rummage and bake sale this weekend. The sale is Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Saturday is bag day and sale hours are 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Proceeds from the sale help to fund mission projects…the church is located at 345 Market Street in Bloomsburg.
