||The Bloomsburg Public Library invites your library-lovers age eighteen months to three years old to “Toddler Time” on Monday March 11th at 9:15 AM. No need to register but all children must be accompanied by an adult.
||Out of Darkness into Light registration
||Saint Cyril Spiritual Center in Danville will host a Lenten Retreat Day “Out of Darkness into Light” on Sunday March 17th from 10 AM- 3 PM. The day includes Sunday Mass, The Sacrament of Reconciliation, Rosary, Presentations on the theme, and a full dinner. To register by March 11th call 275-3581, extension 110.
||Look Good Feel Better
||The American Cancer Society invites women with cancer to treat themselves to a makeover for the body and mind by attending an upcoming “look good feel better” session on Monday March 11th from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at Geisinger Medical Center Knapper Clinic in Danville. “Look good feel better” is a free workshop for women with cancer where trained cosmetology professionals teach attendees how to care for the physical side effects of treatment. All attendees will receive a free gift bag complete with brand-name beauty products and learn a 12-step process to address skin changes, nail changes, and hair loss. ||The free Wheelchair Engineers Train program will be open at the Columbia Mall in Bloomsburg this Monday. The handicapped-accessible model train layout is open each Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, and now features the Dillon Floral limited-edition train with its puffing MTH steam engine. It’s located at the Sears end of the mall.
||Eat For a Cause
||The Gate House invites you to Eat For a Cause on Monday March 11th from 5 to 8 PM at the Wendy’s on Route 11 in Bloomsburg. The Gate House is a non-profit organization that provides shelter for residents of Montour and Columbia Counties who find themselves without a home. Wendy’s will donate 10% of all sales from 5 to 8 PM on March 11th to the Gate House.
||Scriptual Lenten Series
||St. Cyril Spiritual Center in Danville is hosting a Scriptural Lenten Series starting Monday February 18th for 7 consecutive Mondays. The sessions will be held morning and evening…with the hope to help participants grow progressively in grace and in spiritual freedom. You can attend one day or the entire series. ||Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
||Volunteer Income Tax Assistance will be at Wesley United Methodist Church every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until Wednesday April 10th. VITA helps the members of Bloomsburg and its surrounding counties prepare federal, state, and local tax returns. The Wesley United Methodist Church is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
||Dine and Donate
||Kidsburg is hosting a Dine and Donate at the Bloomsburg Quaker Steak and Lube from Monday March 11th to Wednesday March 13th. Bring a voucher or a flyer during that time and 20% of your purchase will benefit the effort to rebuild Kidsburg.
||American Cancer Societ Wig Program
||The American Cancer Society is providing free wigs and head coverings for any woman who is experiencing hair loss as a result of cancer treatment. According to a recent study, nearly 60 percent of women consider hair loss the most dreaded side effect of cancer treatment. Appointments for the wig program can be made by calling 1-800-227-2345.
||Art Installation Project
||Bloomsburg University’s Haas Center for the Arts will soon become home to an original art piece designed to celebrate the collaboration of the university and the greater Bloomsburg community. The piece, titled Confluence, will be a 7 foot by 60 foot depiction of the growth and activity of a small town and how the beauty of nature has inspired a wealth of visual art and cultural enrichment in the area. 19 Susquehanna River Artists have collaborated to construct 18 large tiles that will be installed every two weeks until the piece is completed on May 3rd.
||Man to Man
||The American Cancer Society is hosting their “Man to Man” meeting for those coping with prostate cancer on Monday March 11th at 7 PM at the Pine Barn Inn in Danville. “Man to Man” offers a secure setting to learn about prostate cancer, treatment options, coping and everyday living. “Man to Man” meets monthly on the second Monday and gives prostate cancer survivors and their caregivers a comfortable setting among peers for discussion, education and support through the recovery process.
